This year got its climax, when we organized he annual meeting on Saturday, 16th July at Vesa Cottage in Kuhmo´s Ylä-Vieksi. The meeting began with the official meeting. The chair of Pääkkönen Heritage mr. Mika Karikko wished everyone welcome. Then we checked the rules and made a lot of decisions. The chair of the official section was mr. Vesa-Pekka Pääkkönen.
After the official section the meeting continued with the speeches and music. Mrs. Irmeli Poukkanen narrated about visits in Vuosankavaara, when she was a child. Mr. Asko Valli cleared the investigation in heritage history in early 1600. Mr. Dale Paakkonen from Minnesota greeted with the story about heritage members in USA. Mrs. Vappu Koskinen was honoured with a diploma of collecting newspaper cuttings about heritage members. The lottery was popular, and all lottered things got sold. Joint singing louded bright, when three memebers from Kellojärvi Folk Band played with.
Finally we continued with social activities and drank coffee and enjoyed buns and rönttönens, which mrs. Saimi Pulkkinen had baked. Thank a lot to all visitors and helpers in the kitchen! See you next summer!
